Rooted Through Every Season

Familia,

During my time here in Spain, I have seen olive trees growing throughout the countryside. Some are planted in dry, rocky soil, yet they have remained standing for hundreds of years. What has impressed me most is that their strength is not determined by what we see above the ground, but by how deeply their roots reach beneath the surface.

The prophet Jeremiah wrote:

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord… For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters… and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”

—Jeremiah 17:7–8

Ministry has seasons of visible fruitfulness, but it also has seasons of heat, pressure, disappointment, and uncertainty. There are times when our work seems unnoticed, our prayers appear unanswered, and the results are not what we had hoped for. But our strength does not come from favorable circumstances or immediate results. Our strength comes from being deeply rooted in Christ.

Pastors and ministers, when the season becomes difficult, don’t walk away from the place where God has planted you. Go deeper in prayer. Hold firmly to His Word. Remain faithful to the calling He has placed upon your life. Even when you cannot see it, God may be doing His greatest work beneath the surface.

The heat does not have to destroy you. In the hands of God, it can drive your roots deeper and prepare you to carry even greater fruit.

Let us pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus, strengthen every pastor and minister today. Let our roots grow deeper in Your presence and in Your Word. I declare that the heat will not consume us, the drought will not defeat us, and the pressure will not uproot us. Renew our strength, restore our joy, and cause us to flourish again. May this be a season of deeper faith, fresh anointing, and lasting fruit. We will remain planted, and by Your grace, we will fulfill the assignment You have entrusted to us.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
